Taking care of others in need can be one of the most rewarding and yet simultaneously stressful undertakings any of us will ever experience.
A caregiver’s responsibilities can seem overwhelming at times. So it is vital that caregivers don’t neglect their own needs when taking care of an ailing family member, friend, or patient.
The Self Care for Caregivers Workshop will teach you how to nurture yourself during the care-giving process so that your own capacity to care not only survives but thrives. You will learn skills based in mindfulness meditation and healing body work that help you achieve the following:
- Reduce stress and anxiety
- Ease depression
- Improve overall health
- Develop self-compassion practices
- Support and strengthen your care for a loved one
Eddie LeShure is a Registered Substance Abuse Counselor, Meditation Teacher, Peer Support Specialist, and NAMI Family Support Group Facilitator. He will guide you through several self-care, mindfulness, and compassion practices.
Margaret Kirschner is a Registered Substance Abuse Counselor and a Trauma-Sensitive Yoga Therapist. She works with individuals and groups using mindfulness and gentle movement as healing practices.
To register for the workshop, please visit the registration page at the A Mindful Emergence website or call Eddie at 828-772-1746.
