Phyllis Hicks will be visiting our sangha on July 16, 2014 after she leads a retreat at Southern Dharma Retreat Center in Hot Springs, NC, on July 11 – 16, 2014. At our sangha, she will lead a group meditation, give a dharma talk, and answer questions afterwards.
Phyllis is a senior teacher of Insight Dialogue, as well as a psychotherapist and a minister. She has studied with a variety of Vipassana teachers since 1999, and extensively with Gregory Kramer since 2004. She teaches Interpersonal Mindfulness and leads Insight Dialogue retreats worldwide.
Phyllis is a guiding teacher for Triangle Insight Meditation Community and is the director of the Pastoral Care and Counseling Institute, a nonprofit center for counseling and clinical education in Durham, North Carolina. She also teaches Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction at Duke Integrative Medicine and serves as a faculty member for Metta Programs.
