Asheville Insight Meditation puts dana (generosity) into action by sponsoring volunteer community service projects. Our members come together and volunteer for various projects that promote a better life for individuals and for our planet.
Loving Food Resources
Our current volunteer service project supports Loving Food Resources (LFR), a nonprofit organization that provides food, health supplies, and personal care items for people in Western North Carolina with HIV/AIDS or who are in home hospice care with any diagnosis.
AIM provides five volunteers to assist clients in the LFR food pantry the first Saturday of each month (excluding December 2015). The shift runs from 10:30 am to 2:00 pm.
Although we currently have an awesome group of volunteers, we would love to expand our volunteer pool so that we can serve LFR more frequently and expand the type of service we provide. More volunteers would also give us a back-up system for those times when current volunteers cannot serve.
